ANNO | YEAR 2021 12 HARVEST DIARY | DIARIO DELLA VENDEMMIA Il Vigneto Bolgherese si trova nel lato Est della Via Bolgherese e ha una superficie di 7ettari, 3dei quali impiantati nel 1994, utilizzando il sistema del cordone speronato. I restanti 4 ettari sono stati impiantati nel 2016 nella parte di terreno più vicina al bosco. Il suolo, di origine alluvionale, si presenta sciolto nello strato superficiale mentre, più in profondità, mostra argille coese e ricche di minerali e che, combinandosi con una discreta percentuale di scheletro, lo rendono più complesso. Il drenaggio è ottimo, senza ristagni di acqua in superficie, per cui trovano terreno fertile il Cabernet Sauvignon e il Cabernet Franc. In questa vendemmia 2021 abbiamo prodotto un quantitativo leggermente inferiore al Via Bolgherese, ‘dedicata’ aWalter Via Bolgherese, ‘dedicated’ to Walter consueto, mantenendo pur sempre un’altissima qualità: prerogativa fondamentale per i vini che prenderanno vita da esse, come il Dedicato a Walter Bolgheri Superiore DOC, il Cabernet Franc in purezza di Poggio al Tesoro. The Bolgherese Vineyard is located on the east side of Via Bolgherese and measures 7 hectares, 3 of which were planted in 1994, using spurred cordon training. The remaining 4 hectares were planted in 2016 in the part of land closest to the forest. Of alluvial origin, the soil is loose in the surface layer while deeper, it shows cohesive clays rich in minerals that, combined with a fair percentage of gravelly matter, make it more complex. Drainage is excellent, without surface water stagnation, therefore providing an ideal, fertile habitat for Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. In this 2021 harvest we have produced a slightly lower quantity than usual, while still maintaining an extremely high quality: a fundamental prerogative for the wines that will be made with them, such as Dedicato a Walter Bolgheri Superiore DOC, Poggio al Tesoro’s 100%Cabernet Franc.
