116 Epilogue / Poggio al Tesoro, the Playbill 117 Epilogue / Poggio al Tesoro, the Playbill Every worthy performance, once the curtain has rung down on the final scene, on the concluding words, on the fading glow of the lights, leaves the public with a series of sensations, perceptions, thoughts, emotions, and perturbation which will continue to occupy for a certain time its heart, its mind, and its consciousness. Then, little by little, memories will begin to fade and, only at times, a few fragments of action, of words, of moments of emotion will return to mind, almost subconsciously. After a certain period of time, in all probability, nothing will remain in our heads, almost as though we hadn’t participated in the performance of the piece.
