In passato questi terreni erano coltivati a frumento: abbiamo pensato, quindi, di seminare orzo, un cereale che assorbe molto nutrimento dal terreno, per impoverirlo e prepararlo ad ospitare preziose viti di Vermentino che andranno in futuro ad arricchire la produzione attuale di Poggio al Tesoro. These are some of the very promising new land parcels at Poggio al Tesoro, due to their soil characteristics and proximity to the sea. In the past, these areas were used to grow wheat: we therefore came up with the idea of sowing barley, a grain that absorbs a lot of nourishment. By so doing, we impoverish the soil and thereby prepare it to host the precious Vermentino vines that will in the future enrich the current production of Poggio al Tesoro.
