Poggio al Tesoro Diario della Vendemmia / Harvest Diary / 2020 1 Dovremo aspettare ancora un po’ per cantare vittoria ma sta di fatto che questa vendemmia 2020 è e sarà una raccolta che definire “straordinaria” è eufemistico, a prescindere dalla produzione che verrà. Questa pandemia ci aveva paventato vendemmie verdi, distillazione di migliaia di ettolitri di vino, aveva messo alle strette i produttori che si sono visti in difficoltà nel reperire manodopera e nel gestire spazi in cantina, così come costi non preventivati. Invece... nonostante tutto e tutti e nella consapevole incertezza di ciò che verrà, il coraggio e la dedizione verso il lavoro e nei confronti della propria terra stanno portando i vignaioli italiani a raccogliere il frutto di fatica e sacrificio con la stessa forza e speranza di sempre! Abbiamo stretto i denti, ed ora vediamo il lato più positivo di questo 2020: quello dell’Italia che non si arrende e che trasforma il dolore in energia e le incognite in esperienza. Poggio al Tesoro e le sue persone sono, a buon diritto, tra i migliori interpreti di questi sentimenti. 2020, UN’ANNATA DA RICORDARE Abbiamo stretto i denti, ed ora vediamo il lato più positivo di questo 2020: quello dell’Italia che non si arrende e che trasforma il dolore in energia e le incognite in esperienza. We have gritted our teeth, and now we can see the most positive side of 2020: a nation, Italy, that do not give up and transforms pain into energy and unknowns into experience. 2020, A VINTAGE TO REMEMBER MARILISA ALLEGRINI We will have to wait a little longer before we can celebrate but the fact is that harvest 2020 is, and will be, one that we could only euphemistically refer to as ‘extraordinary’, regardless of the wines it will yield. This pandemic had made us fearful of bleak harvests, or having to distil hundreds of thousands of litres of wine. It had penalised producers who struggled to find manpower and to manage the space available in their cellars, as well as unforeseen costs. Yet... despite everything, and with the on-going awareness of the uncertainties to come, the courage and the dedication of Italian winemakers to their work and to the land are enabling them to reap the fruits of their efforts and their sacrifices with the same determination and hope as ever! We have gritted our teeth, and now we can see the most positive side of 2020: a nation, Italy, that do not give up and transforms pain into energy and unknowns into experience. Poggio al Tesoro and its people are, and with good reason, amongst the best exponents of these convictions.
