2026 will be a memorable year for Poggio al Tesoro. Marilisa Allegrini’s Bolgheri winery will celebrate its 25th anniversary, marking not only the history of the company but also the success of a visionary project that arose out of love for a great region and destined to leave a deep mark on the industry, right from the beginning. It is a venture that emerged from an intuition shared with her brother, Walter, and, after his untimely death, it was carried on by Marilisa with determination and passion.
There is no need to wait until the new year to celebrate, however. A crescendo of accolades now rains down on Poggio al Tesoro. Its “Dedicato a Walter”, a 100% Cabernet Franc, has become the winery’s flagship wine and an undisputed star on the global wine scene.
Poggio al Tesoro has been selected for the first time to participate in the New York Wine Experience, one of the most influential events in the world, which begins this weekend. More good news has come from Chicago, where Poggio al Tesoro was announced as one of the featured wineries at OperaWine 2026, the event that opens Vinitaly and showcases the finest Italian labels chosen by Wine Spectator. These two extraordinary debuts and milestones confirm international appreciation and reward the path built over the years with passion and expertise. They also confirm the courage, entrepreneurial skills, and appeal of Marilisa Allegrini.
It has been an unprecedentedly warm autumn for Poggio al Tesoro. Dedicato a Walter 2021 has also won the approval of Italian critics. It was voted “Best Cabernet Franc” by DoctorWine, awarded “Tre Bicchieri” by Gambero Rosso, and “Cinque Grappoli” by Bibenda.
