Cabernet Franc 100%
This is one of the rare 100% Cabernet Francs from Bolgheri and indeed from Italy, dedicated by Marilisa Allegrini to her brother Walter. It has become the jewel in Poggio al Tesoro’s crown. In Bolgheri’s microclimate and in the stony soils of the Via Bolgherese vineyard, situated in the prestigious area known as Soprastrada, this grape variety – which is generally used to give a touch of elegance to Bordeaux wines – finds an ideal habitat in which to express itself in an absolutely independent and original fashion.
Climate Trend
The winter of 2008/2009 was harsh and rainy. The rainfall accumulation meant there were sufficient water reserves for the summer. A hot spring without excessive temperature changes ensured uniform and regular budding, an important foundation for the entire vegetative phase. A very hot summer with little rainfall allowed the grapes to ripen in perfect health and quality.

Carried out in the last week of September. Grapes are hand harvested in small 15 kg crates. Further manual selection upon arrival at the winery with the use of a sorting table
